Saving Carolina Dogs Rescue & Adoption Network

I have followed the work of this organization for more than two years and have seen how dedicated they are to Saving Carolina Dogs. They rescue this very special breed from kill shelters and other bad situations, give them medical treatment, take time to understand their personalities and socialize them, and place each of them in carefully selected and vetted homes. This is how a rescue SHOULD be run, with the needs of the animal always first.

SCD is truly committed to both the dogs and the humans. It is a group that ensures dogs are fostered in healthy,loving homes and placed in forever homes that are the right fit for all. The director and volunteers work tirelessly to save as many Carolina Dogs as possible. It is truly a responsible rescue.

I got Luke from Saving Carolina Dogs rescue. I had lost my dog of approximately 14 years and I was devastated! The Christmas holiday was approaching and I just could not imagine not having my boy for the holidays. Saving Carolina Dogs saved me from that! It was so close – I brought Luke home on the 23rd! I was impressed by their strict screening and liked how I was put in contact with Luke\’s foster mother for any questions I had. I love this boy so darn much!!!

This group is the most dedicated Carolina Dog supporters out there. They find good homes for dogs that often languish in shelters identified as “mutts” or “lab/shepherd/terrier mixes” but are in reality a breed that stretches back into prehistory as companions to people.

Having been involved working with an animal rescue organization in the past, I know what to look for and what to avoid.I was also a social worker. I was looking at dogs on petfinder and allpaws. I checked a couple of other breed rescue groups and many small dog rescue groups..There are a lot of questionable organizations around. I don’t know their motivations, or perhaps they are just not as knowledgeable as one needs to be to run an organization. “Volunteer” should not mean unprofessional and don’t know how to do the job.I didn’t trust the bulk of them. However, Saving Carolina Dogs meets all my expectations for a good organization. They are doing good work and I think they know what they’re doing. I trust them, and that’s high praise from me.

Saving Carlina Dogs does wonderful work with a breed that is one of the most intelligent, incredible dogs ever created. Such care and love!

This not-for-profit works their tails off to find safety for the amazing and little known Carolina Dog. They rescue them from shelters, treat them for ailments, then find the perfect home for them. I’m proud and honored to be a part of this group!

I adopted through SCD a few years ago; not only do they thoroughly screen potential adopters for suitability but they require a home visit and a vet check. Most important, SCD offers support to all members and adopters to ensure the safety and happiness of every dog they have helped. Since late 2015 when I joined I have seen hundreds of desperately in-need pups saved, treated medically, fostered and then placed in loving new homes. Saving Carolina Dogs is a model for how ALL rescues should work!

The dedication of these people is above and beyond. So thankful there are people like them out there to save so many lives.

I have personally witnessed hundreds of CDs rescued through this group. They get them and provide everything for their health, including expensive heartworm treatments. All of the volunteers go above and beyond to save these babies and find them forever homes. I am also the recipient of one of these babies. So proud of all involved with this group.
