I ordered a large bottoms up loaded pizza, half only with mushrooms and olives, well done. This pizza was for a family I decided to serve, with a food allergy. After I placed the order online and paid, I called in to verify that only half the pizza would have mushrooms and olives. The girl that answered politely repeated the order and assured me it would be made correctly. I got to the families house with the pizza and the pizza was made incorrectly. 3 of the 4 members of their family would not be able to eat or enjoy the pizza. So, I called in to speak to a manager. My issue wasn’t that the pizza was made incorrectly after I placed a very specific order online, or that I called in to verify it be made correctly. My issue was the terribly awful customer service (if you want to call it that) I received from Charlie, a head manager. Charlie had me on hold for over 9 minutes, then got on the phone with a horrible attitude. He was argumentative, condesending, and accused me of lying about my order. When I asked to bring the pizza back for a refund or to come get a different pizza he told me, “Nope! The only thing I could do is offer you a slice of pizza.” One slice of pizza wasn’t going to feed this family or get me my $30 worth. I even asked if I could come back just to pick up a cheese pizza or something, he still yelled at me “NO!” Charlie spoke over me, cut me off as I was asking questions, told me I can call the owner if I have a problem with him, refused​ to provide me the owners name and contact information, told me he didn’t care that I was upset, and so much more very bad things. I’ve worked in the food service industry for years and even managed a team myself. NEVER, EVER would I address a customer the way he did me. Every issue is important and every dollar spent comes from someones pocket. Customers are what keeps small businesses going. I’ve also brought this business thousands of dollars with hosting large parties from my job there, having celebrations, and doing weekly pizza nights for my family here over 3 years. Im appauled that a manager would ever treat someone this way. I called back the next day to speak with the owner, who wasn’t available but spoke with Ryan instead. He was polite and offered an appology (the first I’ve received). He looked into the issue and listened to me but said Charlie is his manager so he’d have to speak with the owner regarding any solutions. May I suggest having an on hand policy should this happen to anyone in the future, like maybe a way to offer a refund, or to make another pizza correctly. Most restaurants have this very basic customer service skill down and in motion. The ring around and back and forth for a soulation is ridiculous. Because of Charlie, Bottoms Up has lost all of it’s stars. The service was never incredible and I can see why, the staff is being lead by a mad man who treats people like crap. Still waiting for a call back from someone who will make this right. Thanks!
