A Second Chance Animal Shelter is a no kill shelter. The shelter is clean and the animals well taken care of. Being a small shelter in a poor rural county, they do not get any govt. funding. They do monthly low cost spay/neuter clinics to help with the pet overpopulation

I’ve called on the Second Chance Animal Shelter since it was begun and have always gotten answers to my questions and help with my problem. While they cannot always accept another animal (they are small and not county sponsored), they are always willing to help however they can. Their spay and neuter program is making a difference in the stray animal population in this county.

I adopted my dog Lucy from this Shelter. She had been there for 5 years. They are very kind and take great care of the pets they take in. They make sure that people who are adopting pets ard capable of caring for them.

I am a fan because the animals are well cared for. The shelter is amazingly clean and well kept. The most important thing is the animals are loved and treated like personal pets.

ASCAS is a wonderful shelter organization filled with genuinely caring staff and volunteers. We are always amazed at how clean and organized the facility is each time we visit. ASCAS truly cares about the well-being of every animal in the shelter; it’s apparent in their consistent efforts to nurture and improve the lives of each furry little individual. Fundraisers, the ASCAS thrift store, Christmas Angel Tree and beyond… ASCAS does a fantastic job of connecting with the Manning community. Their work to diligently screen and find loving forever homes for the animals is fantastic.

They are a very loving and safe enviroment for short term and long term animal care. The shelter is always clean and people are very friendly.
