Simply put, Chantel is not only an amazing stylist, she is also an amazing person. I remember one occasion when my son decided kind of last minute that he wanted to go to prom. I called Chantel and she not only fit him into her already busy schedule, she did it in a way so that his hair would be freshly done right before prom started. She cares about the finite details that others wouldn’t even think about. My sons will not let anyone else (including me) touch their hair and I’m okay with that.

I am a fan of cuttin up hair salon because Ms. Chantel is simply the best. I always know where to go when I want my hair laid and healthy .period. The nails are truly amazing. I love that she focuses on keeping your hair and nails healthy while still looking amazing. I have been going to Ms. Chantel since middle school and I can’t wait to have a daughter and do the same

Chantel is the ONLY person I trust to cut my natural hair and my daughter’s curly hair. She will tell you what you need to maintain and keep your hair healthy. I’ve been going to Chantel around 12 years now and there no one In San Diego that can touch my hair other then her. She encouraged me to go natural around 5 years ago and it was the best thing I could have ever done. EveryTime I want something new she brings my vision to reality without missing a step. Her hands are magical and professionalism is unmatched.

Chantel is AMAZING!!!
I’ve been natural for all little over a year, and she’s the only person I let touch me hair! She can look at your hair and tell you what the issue is before she even touches it. After she touches your hair for confirmation, she explains everything to you. She tells you what the issue is, what caused the issue, tell you what she’s going to do to fix the issue, and how not to maintain what she’s done to continue your healthy hair process.

Chantel has “Hands of Gold” literally. There is never a time that I walk out of the shop feeling disappointed. Her hospitality, sense of humor, and overall caring about you makes the experience so much better. I feel like this is my second home, not just a hair shop. Her silk presses, are fantastic! She will have you walking out the shop with your natural hair looking like you have a weave. I always have people asking me if my hair is real when I leave the hands of Chantel. She is amazing, the shop is amazing. Oh did I mention she does nails too?!?!?! Yes, she will have you walking around in San Diego with a nail design that no one has had or will ever have. She does not use a drill and will have you nails growing healthy. She is the only person I will let touch my hair and nails in San Diego! So if you want top notch nails and beautiful hair, Cuttin’ Up Hair and Nails and sitting in the chair of Chantel is the place to be.

I have been going to Chantel since 06. In my opinion the best stylist in SD. She is all about product knowledge & education. There i have been times I wanted to try different things to my hair and of it was going to cause damage she wouldn’t do it. She als is fantastic at nails. My grandmother is a diabetic and has issues with her big toe. Chantel is great at treating her feet. Chantel is probably the only stylist that still provides education to her clients.

Cuttin Up Hair & Nails is a one stop shop. She does hair, nails, lashes, & makeup. Shes knowledgeable of the services she renders and the products she uses. SHE DOES NAILS WITHOUT THE DRILL MACHINE no-one does that anymore. Cuttin Up gives back to the community with their 619 LUVS THE KIDS DAY where they give away free hair dos and school supplies. CUTTIN UP HAIR AND NAILS IS THE BOMB!!!
