Dr. Patel received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee in 1994 and then completed a one year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). He also earned a Masters in Science from Tufts University in 2011
Achievements
He is one of five dental professionals in Georgia to be Board certified in Dental Sleep Medicine (DABDSM). Additionally, he is the only Dental Practitioner in Georgia and in the southeast to be triple-boarded in Craniofacial Pain, Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Patel had served as a board member for the Georgia Association of Sleep Professionals (GASP) and is a founding member. He has been reelected to serve on the GASP board effective 2014. He presently serves on the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine (ABCDSM), American Board of Craniofacial Pain (ABCP) and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP). As of September been appointed Director of Clinical Education for Nierman practice management. Dr. Patel has served as secretary of the AACP 2013-2014, part time clinical faculty at Georgia Perimeter College, Department of Dental Hygiene and served on the Advisory board for their department. Since December 2008-July 2014, he has served as the Director of the Dental Sleep Medicine Program at Fusion Sleep in Suwanee, Georgia.
