We adopted Molly in Sept. 2013. We lived in Lenexa, KS at the time and worked with us in coming to see her and then to pick her up since we were an hour away. Everyone was very nice and the adoption fee was lower than any one else’s. Would still go out of our way to adopt again from them

This Humane Society is amazing for a town the size of Atchison. They are genuine, down to earth people that’ll take in any stray. What’s also nice is the fact they are a no kill type shelter. They advertise their available adoptions and the animals are adopted very quickly! Just love the place!!

We adopted a long-haired chihuahua in December from the Atchison Humane Society. She was healthy and well- taken care of. We had a great experience and appreciate all of their kindness and hard work.

It’s hard to truly explain how much these two amazing women go above and beyond for the animals at our shelter but i will try these amazing ladies treat every single animal like it was there own pet giving them bites of there own lunch letting them hang out up front they don’t care how far they have to go to get these babies adopted they will always fight to keep an animal safe warm loved and feed

Such a wonderful clean facility. The staff is so caring and patient with all the animals. They work so hard trying to raise money and a lot of times don\’t get the recognition they deserve. So proud they are a part of our community!

My cousin is involved with the Atchison humane society. Two of my aunts had memorials to humane societies when they passed away and Atchison having family link was my choice. They are a caring society for all animals.

We drove hours to adopt our beloved Buddie! He is the sweetest and most loving cat ever! He was posted on line on Atchisons web sight which is a great way to expand to possibility of adoption for animals! I was so impressed for the way these people really care about the animals I trusted to them, and their efforts made to help put the word out to get them loving homes! I have never seen any other facility have so much involvement from their community! Schools with children from the smallest to the oldest come out to tour and volunteer! Scout troops and others come out to help with fund raisers to donations! When an animal is in need they put the word out and donations roll in from all over! The community involvement with kids birthday party\\\\\\\’s being gifts for the animals at the shelter to the postings of random donations of much needed items such as litter, bleach, to washing machines is amazing! People in this community love their shelter! They post beautiful pictures of newly adopted pets showing the joy these animals bring to their new homes! I am so proud we found this facility and were able to adopt such a wonderful family member!❤️❤️❤️❤️
