Kaaawa K-9 Rescue was one of my first up close exposures to a pet rescue. They taught me the importance of neutering my dog, Charlie, and helped me find a way to get it done even though I was broke. I liked them so much I volunteered for months until I moved off island and saw how they go into the community like friends and family members, helping people with their pets as well as doing rescues and working with other rescues and shelters. Really valuable experience for me.
