The Best Rescue run by the best volunteers. I cannot say enough how happy I was with Westside and the adoptions I have done thru them. Clean kennels, dogs are well taken care of and get daily walks which is important. Love this place!!!

We live in Wa state and we researched rescues to adopt from, in 2013. By far, hands down, Westside German Shepard rescue is the ULTIMATE best rescue. They show more love and take care of more fur babies then I have ever seen. All of us connected are part of a huge extended family. The fur babies that come from here are not just numbers they are precious lives that must be saved. I whole heartedly believe Westside deserves this 100%. Much much love from us.

This rescue does wonderful things for all the mistreated, abandoned, sick dogs who without Westside would die. Period. They tirelessly work to save as many precious dogs as they can. I am from Los Angeles originally but now live in Birmingham, Al. I would love to be able to help foster if I was in Cali but from here I can help with donations when I can. Adopted our first Westside shepherd in 2008. Since then, we have adopted 5 dogs. The volunteers are very knowledgeable on all the dogs and so helpful in choosing the right dog for our family. Definitely a lifelong supporter and adopter.

Westside is simply the best. I adopted a dog from them, who I adore. I have fostered for them also. What I love most about them is they are willing to go to any length to save a dog. They don’t turn away from medical issues, behavioral issues, age or any thing else. They save any dog they possiblely can. My darling late grand dog Stella was adopted from Westside. She was incredibly sweet and my current baby Callie was adopted from them. I have found Robin, Barbara and the staff. Caring, kind. And eager to make the right match. Love this place.

WGSR is an incredibly well run rescue that’s supported 100% by volunteers and donors. It’s helped thousands of dogs over the years and never says no to a German Shepherd in need no matter how hopeless the situation may seem. I found my fur baby there 3 years ago and just adopted a second. Their support for adopters is great despite the overwhelming number of dogs and adopters needing help and the love for these German Shepherds has built a wonderful community of adopters helping and supporting one another.

Westside German Shepherd Rescue consists of a group of people dedicated to the well-being of GSDs, and even a few wanna bes. We adopted our 2 GSD mixes in the last 2 1/2 years from them, resulting in contact with the staff and volunteers. We are now infected by WSGSR fever, being compelled to volunteer as dog walkers (not an easy task with our busy work and family schedules), donate 2 cars, foster pups, and help out in any number of ways when we can. This worthwhile group has fans around the world. What’s not to love?

We got our Zoe from Westside and she is an absolutely wonderful dog! We are so happy they took the time, energy and $ to save her. Who knows what would have happened to her if they had not rescued her. She is the sweetest dog ever and we love her! They made it possible for her to find her way to us.

I have adopted 2 wonderful shepherds through Westside, they do such awesome work saving so many dogs from kill shelters. They lovingly care for them until they find them their permanent homes. Just can\’t say enough about Robin and all of the volunteers that give up their time to help all these dogs that otherwise wouldn\’t have any hopes of finding homes.

Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles not only does incredibly important work saving 11,000 dogs over the last 15 years and helping them find their forever homes but it does it with genuine heart. What makes them even more outstanding is their support after you adopt from access to trainer Eran Shine, who really knows your dog and uses only positive reinforcement training, to peer support on the active alumni Facebook page, to staff and volunteers who continue to make you feel welcome. Most importantly, they brought Okami into my life, rescuing him from a high kill shelter, caring for him for several months until we found each other, comforting him when a previous adoption wasn\\\’t the right fit, and making his cross-border adoption to his new home in Canada with me and my 12-year-old dog, Owl, as easy as possible. I\\\’ll always be grateful for the love Westside brought into my life.

I volunteer for Westside and we adopted a German Shepherd after first fostering her for the rescue. Without Westside she and many others would not still be alive. They save many dogs every day, provide needed medical care and find homes for them (over 1030 last year). This is a wonderful place to find a new family member.

I am so awed by the commitment westside has to saving German Shepard pups. They go to far away shelters to save those that would not be alive today. Once in their care all medical, emotional and training needs are met. They love and care for each and every pup as if it were their own. They are very careful in chiding the right parents for each pup !!westside you just rock!!!

Our family was looking for a new family member in 2010. We went down to the rescue in downtown LA and came home with 2 dogs that day. Because I was so impressed with the rescue, I have started volunteering. Last year the rescue adopted out 1030 dogs. If you are looking for a German Shepherd dog, this is the place to go.
